GMPR HR CASHMAN’S PDQ OF ORION MH

PD has been sold to Cashman Kennels of Elko, Minnesota where he has received additional training and hunt testing. Under the direction of the Cashmans he has achieved the titles of Grand Master Pointing Retriever and Master Hunter and is now being offered at stud to approved females.

PD was sired by FC Candlewoods Meet Joe Black (Joe) out of my HR Orion’s Quattro CGC. I intended to keep a female from this litter, but Q gave us five males and NO females in this litter. I felt that in order to learn from this breeding I needed to keep a puppy and so PD became a member of our pack. PD’s sire, Joe, is from the mainstream of AKC field trial bloodline’s. Joe was sired by 2xNAFC-2xCNAFC Ebonstar Lean Mac (who has sired more Labrador retriever field champions than any Lab in history). His dam was FC-AFC Candlewoods Gotta Be Good(Full Sister to 3xNFC Candlewoods Tanks a Lot; Lottie is the only female three time National Field Champion in history). Joe had four littermates who earned their Field Champion title which shows the success of this breeding. Joe was OFA “Excellent”, eyes were CERF certified “Normal” at 90 months of age, is CNM “Clear”, and is EIC “Clear”.

PD was a very bright and precocious pup. He’s a handsome dog who is very athletic and covers ground with ease. He’s a very intense, focused retriever who would rather work than get a belly rub (and he likes his belly rubs!). PD received all of his training at Orion without the use of an electronic training collar and was a pleasure to work with! He’s very bright, he learns his lessons quickly, and he always gives great effort. PD has demonstrated great marking talent and is very willing to handle because he knows that’s the quickest way for him to get the retrieve! He also has a superior nose and will point game birds.

PD went to his first HRC Started test having never smelled a duck, let alone retrieved one. In spite of this handicap he passed all phases of the test. He passed five of five Started tests to earn his SHR title and passed three straight Seasoned tests to earn the title of “Hunting Retriever”. PD has continued to pass a very high percentage of his hunt tests with Cashman’s trainers. PD was born to play the hunt test games. I knew that P.D. was capable of achieving great things and I’m very grateful to Karen and Matt Cashman for giving PD the opportunity to go on to higher hunt test levels and prove his worth.
